I didn’t realize the importance of gratitude until I was in my 30’s. When I am truly grateful and present in my life, I can appreciate the simple joys of living. It’s always good to have an attitude of gratitude though some of us may find that it takes some work. So, here are 100 things to be grateful for in life today, in no particular order.

1. Warm bed
There’s nothing better than getting into a warm bed at night, especially in the winter.
2. Home or shelter
I’m glad that I have a place to call home and that I get to share it with my husband and daughter.
3. Food to eat
We can all be grateful for the ability to nourish our bodies with healthy food.
4. Good health
We may have general aches and pains as we age but to have good health with no underlying issues is so amazing.
5. Family
The person I am today is due to how I was raised and where I come from.
6. Vehicle to drive
I drive a compact car that is seven years old but it gets me from Point A to Point B, and that’s all that matters.
7. Education
Whether it’s elementary, secondary, higher education, or graduate school, we get to learn!
8. Seasons
I didn’t fully appreciate the transition to each season, which brings different cycles of life, until I was an adult.
9. Change
If you’re like me, I generally resist change but it brings on new chapters and people into my life.
10. Pets
My two cats bring unconditional love, endless company, and cuteness into my life.
11. Coffee
Coffee is hands down the best start to every single day.
12. Camping
I love leaving the city and unplugging for a few days. Being in nature is a gift.
13. Fireplaces
There’s nothing like the warmth of a fire on a winter night.
14. Friends
Every person that comes into your life is there for a reason.
15. Baths
As a full-time working mom and wife, I’m grateful for every single bath that I can take.
16. Perfume
To be able to smell and enjoy the aromas of a good perfume.
17. Technology
This allows us to do so much in the world and to make it a better, more connected planet.
18. Job
I’m grateful for the opportunity to be employed and to help others through my work.
19. Writing

30. Sunsets
We have some beautiful sunsets in New Mexico.
31. Walks
Purposeful walking is so calming and relaxing.
32. Flowers
The beauty of flowers is unrivaled.
33. Coworkers
We may not get to choose these people but they are the ones we spend the most time with.
34. Democracy
I appreciate a system where the people’s right to vote and choose is inherent in a constitution.
35. Vacation
For those of us who work 9 to 5 jobs, vacations are glorious.
36. Hiking
I didn’t appreciate hiking until I got to see the inner workings of mountains and the beauty of final destinations.
37. Green chile
Roasting green chile at grocery stores brings our New Mexican community together every fall.
38. Grandparents
I was very close to both of my grandmothers and they provided another layer of care, safety, and security to my life.
39. Ocean
The vastness, the beauty, and most definitely the unknown.
40. New Mexico
I moved back to New Mexico after I attended college in California because I love this State.
41. Celebration
From birthdays to milestones to events, you can make anything a cause for celebration.
42. Restaurants
I enjoy the ability to go somewhere and try different types of food.
43. Personal growth
Realizing how much I have grown helps me to be grateful for all the difficulties on my path.
44. Marriage
Even though I’ve been married for less than a year, having this one person as my constant supporter in every facet of my life is amazing.

Reading is the gift that keeps on giving; we learn, become inspired, motivated, and more.

My counselor tells me that it’s a privilege to be able to see a counselor, and it is.

The things I learn and continue to learn because of YouTube, which is free.
48. Clean water
I was never grateful for clean water until I went to places where there was no clean water.
49. Clothing
My relationship with clothing has changed over the years but, at a minimum, its purpose is to keep us warm and it also allows us to be part of society. Tell this to my toddler who doesn’t like wearing clothes.
50. Learning
We do this every single day by being alive and experiencing the things around us.
51. Climbing
Climbing allows me to overcome personal fears and boosts my self-confidence.
52. Teachers
Teachers give, give, give of themselves to guide others.
53. Meditation
Meditation teaches me to be present within myself.
54. Love
The ability to love and receive love may be the most powerful thing on this planet.
55. Imperfection
Imperfection makes us perfectly human.
56. Spirituality
For me, spirituality is about how I relate to the world.
57. Universe
I’m grateful for my belief that the universe is ever-expanding and infinite.

Email expands our communication with others at the touch of a button.
59. Daughter
My life and my heart changed after having my little girl, all for the better.
60. Aliens
Whenever or however they appear to us, I am grateful for other beings that exist. Why not, right?

This is part of the magic of my childhood on the reservation.

This television series has it all for children.

Video calling allows my daughter to have a better relationship with her grandmother.

My husband truly makes life more complete and enjoyable.

I know what it’s like to not grow up with a washer and dryer in my home, so I am grateful to have a washer and a dryer.
66. Telework
I’m still able to work despite an ongoing global pandemic.
67. U.S. Passport
I am grateful and proud to be a U.S. citizen.
68. Stories
No matter who you are or where you come from, you have a story.
69. Patience
I’m grateful for the patience I have now but it only grew with age, experience, and wisdom.
70. Pedicures
The ability to relax, be pampered and get a pop of color painted on your toenails.
71. Utilities
This is water, electricity, gas, sewer, and trash.
72. Prayers
The ability to pray to whomever we want and however we want.
73. Higher power
I’m grateful for the belief that there is something greater than myself in this universe.

As a Cancer, there is no better feeling than to be in the water with marine life.

I grew up playing games like Scrabble and Pictionary and still enjoy them today.
76. Budgeting
I didn’t know how financially lost I was before I learned how to budget.
77. Farmer’s markets
For me, there’s so much admiration for people who grow food, and to be able to eat those products is great too.
78. Music
Dance parties, that’s all I have to say.
79. Healing
I’m grateful to heal from whatever life throws my way.

That spark or momentum that gets you up in the morning to do things all day long.

I’m starting to notice more and more unhealthy air quality warnings in the past couple of years, so I am truly grateful for clean air.

When you carefully budget your money and you have discretionary income.

Be grateful for the change and growth it takes to be able to forgive.

I’m grateful for whatever it is that helps me to try new things, to evolve, and keep going.

I appreciate the elusiveness of time. I blink and it’s five years later, it’s wild.

I spent so many years not caring about Christmas but to see the season again through my daughter makes me grateful for it.

The phenomenon of light refraction.
90. Air conditioning
I grew up without air conditioning and it was not a big deal. Now that we have global warming, I am grateful for it.

When I help something to grow, I am truly amazed.

Giving and receiving gifts – the mystery, the surprise, and the love.

Our society dictates that we can relax for two days a week, I’ll take it!

Whether it’s emotional, financial, or mental, I’m grateful for any type of stability.

First of all, learning how to invest and taking an active role in my financial future.

There! 100 things to be grateful for in life
When I started this list of 100 things to be grateful for in life, the first 50 or 60 came pretty easily. Then, I let it go for a couple of days, and ideas of gratitude kept coming and flowing. So, I hope this list helps and inspires you.
